Default 1994 K1500 instrument cluster lens removal?

I had some body work done a few years back and when they cleaned my vehicle up afterwards they must have used a wet cleaner on the dash and it ran down the inside of the instrument cluster lens. I was wondering how the trip meter reset button comes off. I tried to turn it thinking it may unscrew but either its real tight or removes a different way, I don't want to break it if it does not unscrew. Thanks.

Default Button removal

See if this gives you any direction.

Not your model, but might you some information to help you get started.

Also do a search on You Tube, They just might have the exact video.

Good luck.

On that model it looks like the button just slips through the glass, mine has a larger head on it so it needs to come off first maybe the head just slips on the shaft will have to do a little more searching, thanks

I would not do that myself. If you have no idea how to get that fixed that better to wait for scheduled maintenance or at least visit specialist.
I would not touch that.

All I want to do is take the lens off and clean it, it has a few screws holding it on but the trip meter reset button that goes through it but has a bigger tip on it where you push it than the hole it passes through. I think it unscrews but want to be sure so I don't twist it off if it does not unscrew

Hmmm...I'll be needing to remove this lens as well soon, as I'll be repairing my ODO and trip meter.
I'll post how I get it off when I do...probably in a week or so...maybe on Christmas since I'm off that day.
I may do a test on a truck at the junk yard first...either way I'll need to get this off.

Good idea, to test it in the junkyard. I did get a response from a guy who sells the new lens on e-bay, he says the rubber tip will just pull off of the shaft that is the reset button, after looking at it I think he is correct its just a rubber tip. I suppose one would probably want to hold the shaft with a needle nose pliers so as not to be pulling on the internals. I look forward to your junkyard test if you get it done. Should confirm what he says I hope. Thanks.
