Default 80K mile tune up??

Hello All...today I spent some time under the hood of my new (to me) 1999 Silverado 1500 5.3L with 80,000 miles. To begin I'd like to say THANK YOU to all of you for giving me insight on my new truck before beginning the wrenching process. This is my first Chevy truck and I've come from Acura's and Toyotas however have always wanted a Chevy V8 and now I own one, yes yes yes!! Here is the list of what I was able to complete today...

-Oil change (Castrol Synthetic 5W30)
-New AC Delco oil filter
-Dropped the transmission pan. Replaced the tranny filter, gasket and cleaned the pan of a light gray layer of tranny oil. The shifts now are AMAZING. I used Valvoline MaxLife Dex ATF.
-New AC Delco Platinum plugs
-New AC Delco plug wires
-Flushed the cooling system and replaced with Dex Cool (50/50)
-Cleaned the throttle body very well
-MAF sensor was in great condition
-New dura last fuel filter
-Installed an AirRaid air intake system
-Installed a Magnaflow exhaust
-Replaced the thermostat

Tomorrow I'm going to run through the brakes and look at my e-brake, it currently feels like it is 'mushy' when I press it in and isn't very strong. Other than this I am gong to drive the truck!! Any other simple things I can do to keep my truck running strong? Hoping to get a few hundred thousand miles on it. Have a great weekend friends!

The small-block Chevy V8 has been in production for sixty years now - in many variations - and is, to this day, one of the wonders of the automotive world.

Stick with what works, eh?

Those parking brakes are simple just like the old style drum brakes simple only problem I've encountered with those is the backing plates that hold the parking brake shoes rust out bad luckily parts stores carry all parts for what you need sounds like a solid truck kinda jealous

If you have disc brakes in the rear, there won't be any drums. The Silverado came both ways - some with disc brakes and others with the drums.

Thank you @JK23112...my rig has discs front and back. Unfortunately I did not have the time last weekend to get the brakes replaced so it is going to have to wait a few weeks. I am going to replace the brakes and also replace the front brake lines with steel braided since these current ones are looking a bit worn. I would LOVE a new paint job unfortunately not in the cards for the old boy. In the last few weeks I've been finding reasons to go for a drive and really enjoy having an older yet reliable truck.

Another busy few days working on the truck. Added a few items, none of which are tied to the tune up...

-New Line X Premium bedliner was installed today
-Alarm with remote start
-Kenwood Excelon stereo with HDMI connection for the iPhone
-Replaced the speakers in the doors
-Installed AirLift ride control load leveling air bags
