Default 89 cheyenne oil leak

Gotta '89 1500 two wheel drive 4.3 liter automatic 2 wheel drive 120,000 miles

oil shows up on the garage floor every day.

sometimes a little sometimes more.

The trans was rebuilt and I had the rear main seal done at the same time.

still oil on the ground.

someone said intake manifolds leak.

I that hard to replace?
should I have a garage do it for me?

tell me what you think.

thanks
Kevin

i would spend a few bucks to get the engine washed and then see where the leak is. it will be real east to see on a nice clean motor.

The intake shouldn't be hard if that is it. But if your not sure where it is coming from see what color the oil is. If it is red it is probably transmission fluid. If not look over your engine. It could be powersteering but that will start to squeal after a short time if it is leaking bad. If your rear main was done the oil pan gasket should have been done with it. I would gess it is more likely valve cover gaskets. It could even be a oil filter that just needs tightened or replaced. But wash it and look at every thing. Just be careful not to get the alt, distriutor, or intake to wet. It will quit running.

alot of people overlook the brass(I think its brass) gasket on the oil plug. check that first, its an easy fix if thats the problem.

I should have said this before, but after you wash it look from top to bottom. Most of the time liquid runs down. If it isn't the valve covers you will not have oil on the top of the engine. Does that make sense. Anyway look from the top to the bottom.
