99 one ton blower motor resistor
OEM Number:15039098
Auto zone part Number: DR776
I am trying to locate the Blower Motor Resistor on a 1999 K3500 Crew Cab for a friend, above is the part number for it. would it be under the dash or under the hood even a good place to start would be better than where i am.
Also when the Fan motor control was unplugged the brown wires were burnt, where the fan control switch connects to the climate control board the bonded terminals had gotten hot and melted the plug, could this have been cause by a defaulty Blower motor resistor.

It should be under the passenger side of the dash near the blower motor. Most of it is inside the evaporator/heater/blower case all you will see is connector/wires

bottom of dash is off and the heater core is removed, cannot see where it could possibly be, does the cover of the blower motor need removed, I didnt even see a 4 wire loom going into that area? also this is the classic body style not the newer like the half ton 99 trucks.
thank you for any more information
