Don't know if this helps, but my 04-2500 has 2 side by side, under the climate control. IF yours is the same, and the passenger side one works, I would say check the socket, make sure power and ground are both tight.

At this point any suggestions might be the answer,I can't believe GM doesn't mark this in the owners manual,I have worked on GM products all my life so I feel kinda dumb not having diagnosed this yet,I will check that outlet itself next,THANX Rivereye for you're help!

After using a power inverter, I lost power at both my rear and front auxillary power sockets. At the time, I assumed I had taken out the fuses but that was not the case. Something at the rear of the sockets themselves opened and prevented power from getting thru. I don't know it the sockets have built-in fuses, or if they just couldn't handle the load, but replacing the sockets fixed the problem.
