Best way to duel exhaust
Hey I have a 2001 chevy silverado 1500, I was looking into dueling it and I was wondering the best way to do so. Should I just take out both of the catalytic converters and put in tube all of the way to the back. Is it best to run the two tubes on one side together then split it at the end and go out both sides? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

True dual would cut the y-pipe just before the collector an runnin pipin all the way to the back for tips. Keep both pipes on the same side due to the gas tank

If I Amgoing to put glass packs on should I take the cats off or just leave them on. The two cats bolt to the headers. What happens to the sound if you take the cats off? Thanks for the replies it really helps.

If they function right leave em on till they crap out...sound will be a little louder and has a little more in can drone. I've got no cats with true dualed glasspacks

for the tubing is it best to buy tubing and some 180 degree bends and just piece it together or is it best to take it somewhere and have a pipe made for it. I can weld so the welding wouldnt be an issue. Also should I use 3'' tubing and just use an expander from the 2.5'' tubing that hooks on to the headers to the tubing to the back of the truck. Or there is some exhasut kits you can buy, are the kits any good? And where is the best place to buy exhaust part/tubing/kits? Thanks alot. Brian

if your running true duals i wouldnt go no bigger than 2.5 inch piping due to loss of low end people even say with 3 inch duals they loss low end with 6.0
you could always go to your local muffler shop and have them do it for you they have all pipes in stock but this can be costly maybe you can try looking on summit or jegs for pipe kits they do sell them
EDIT:also if running dual pipes its best to run a cross over x-pipe or h-pipe from the research ive done people say x-pipe is better for high end and smooths out exhaust tone and high rpm tone h-pipe is better for low end up to 3k rpm and has a deeper tone than the x pipe
