Yes, your low beams are your DRLs. However, they are powered at a lower amperage than the actual low beams. This means you have two options when installing HIDs to your low beams. First, get a DRL retro kit that will turn on the low beams when your normal DRLs are active (HIDs can NOT run at a reduced amperage. They are either on or off). Second is pull the fuses (noticed i used the plural form here. You must pull BOTH the DRL fuses to completely disable the system). Trying to run the ballasts at the reduced amperage the DRLs run at will destroy the ballasts.

Thanks Eric. So are there only 2 fuses and are they under the hood or in the dash. (lost my manual)

Under hood. If memory serves me correctly it is fuse 31 and 33. Here is a link for a 2009 which almost identical to an 08
