Default MPG on 2014 silverado 2500 HD 6.2 V8

Anyone getting terrible gas mileage on this model new truck? Averaging 9-12 MPG, closer to 9 tho. Have upgraded air filter and am considering taking it back to chevy. Only 2400 miles. Any tune-up help?

the millage will likely increase some as the engine gets a few more miles on it. but bear in mind its a hd 3/4 ton truck, it was not built for fuel millage. not sure what others are getting in that same truck though.

i have a older 2500hd with the 8.1L big block in it and get 9-10 city driving and about 12-14 highway and pretty happy with that for what it is. did not buy it for fuel millage. Really cost of ownership is pretty similar to the Diesel pickup i had prior even with on average 4-5mpg less fuel economy.

My new 2015 2500HD with 6.0L with just shy of 1000 miles has gotten a lifetime mpg of 13 so far. That should improve a little over time. Especially since we are on winter fuel right now. If things stay the same, I can see mpg's of 15 avg or better being realistic during the summer months. By then, I would have all the lubes and fluids changed out in the drive train on full synthetics throughout. Just me, I change out all the fluids within the first 3000 mile to get break in wear metals out of there. Can't prove it makes a difference, but sure gives me peace of mind.
