Default Mutiple cylinder misfire

Here's my story:

1.) Got a "Service Enging Soon" light - took my C1500 with 5.7 to Autozone to check codes. They give 3 different things that could cause whatever code - said most likely catalytic converters. Fixed that and code went away.

2.) A week later the light comes back on - this time Autozone says "Multiple Engine Misfire" - probable cause plugs and wires. Changed them and light went away.

3.) This weekend we were towing our RV and start getting a very loud miss trying to stay at 70 MPH going up the Missouri Ozarks. After the light comes on again, we pull into a local Autozone to check the code - another "Multiple Engine Misfire". The guy wanted to sell some more plugs and wires. The only thing I could think about at the time was the distributor cap and rotor. The old ones were corroded. This didn't fix the problem at all (add this note: when I tightened down the rear screw on the distributor I did hear a "click" - I wonder if I cracked this cap!). Now I'm wondering if the fuel filter is stopping up.

With 127,000 miles, most of this stuff needs replacing anyway. I just hope something fixes this. I have to be towing to get this to happen. I can run around very quickly with AC running and nothing happens.

All of them or just certain ones? Did an engine analyser tell you this?

Did you use rebuilt injectors or new ones? New ones are pricey, especially buying 8! But I don't see 8! How many do these engines have? Fords have had multiport for many years.
