Default New to Forum, Old to Chevy

I just wanted to say hello - I am brand new to the Chevy forum here, and excited to be part of the community. I grew up with Chevy's...am by no means an experienced mechanic so I will probably be throwing a lot of questions around. I have a 1984 Chevy C10 Long Bed that I put in the back seat to drive my 1991 Jeep Wrangler around the past few years and just sold it off for a 1993 K1500 Stepside Short box that will be a daily driver while I semi-restore the 1984...so there will be plenty of dumb questions asked.

I have one right out of the gate, as a matter of fact. What is the code reader I need to invest in for the 1993 Chevy K1500? I have an ODB II but as I understand, that will not apply to vehicles older than 1996...so what would 1993's equivalent be? I've always found it's just a good tool to invest in - and the ODB II has served quite well in working with the ladies 2002 Subaru WRX (not that I can do anything with that crazy Japanese technology anyhow...). Thanks for your time and I am pleased to be in your presence.

-Jesse
