Default rear brakes on 06 2500

you must live in the rust belt. Vehicles in these areas need yearly brake services to clean and lubricate the calilper bracket and pins.

you must take the caliper brackets off and clean all the rust and brake dust that is built up on and under the clips and bracket. A file or wire wheel work well.

the pads should be free to move in the brackets using hand pressure....like the front. The rear brakes get all the throw off from the front wheels so crud up faster.

I second what tech2 advised.

Don't forget to use only synthetic grease for the caliper pins. (There is special caliper grease) Regular grease does not hold up to the heat generated and could be harmful to the rubber boots protecting the cleanliness of the pins.
