Default starter problems

i have a 2006 1500hd 6.0L and i have replaced the starter with a napa premium starter, well the first one lasted one day and the second one has lasted three weeks. i have ordered one from a junk yard off a similar truck with 40,000 miles this should be a oem starter. i need to know what i am missing, there is only voltage to the coil and then the shaft kicks out and turns the fly wheel. what the hell else can make a starter only last this short of time except for them being a piece of sh__. please let me know if i am missing something.

how are your grounds and positive cables? is it the solenoid going? or is it the starter itself?

There you have it. Their rebuilt starters werent 100% rebuilt, only cleaned up and repainted. The factories do that sometimes because the employees get paid on productivity so they will let a lot of junk slide or only replaced worn parts to make their quota.

Thats why its good to get the mid-level to the premium ones for the longer warranty. Some of those parts can have a 30 day warranty and some have the limited lifetime.
