One big pro is the power and torque difference. The 5.3 I was given as a loaner was junk. My 6.0 would walk all over it even though the numbers given out by chevy state that they are close in horsepower and torque. The loaner was a new 07 1500 crew cab I wasn't impressed.

If you have the 4l60e trans you should swap it for the 4l80e. I have never seen a 6.0 bolted to a 4l60 and I am not sure if it will hold up.

I would look for a low mileage wreak at the bone yard. Then you would then have the engine, trans, puter, and any other parts you would need, IMHO.

The only con i would see is MPG, you pay more at the pump for that extra power.

What are you putting it in?
IMO, its the best iron block motor they make now, good luck with swap

A question for Carpenterbill does the wiring harness match up to the 6.0 from the 5.3 or does that also need to be replaced?
