i know when i helped do a motor sawp in a f250 we had to slip a wrench in and remove the bolts for teh Torque converter and slowly turn the flywheel to get at all 4 bolts. what a pain. then when removing a tranny from a 92 exploder it was straight drop out after driveshaft, linkage, and bolts were removed. make sure EVERYTHING is removed and possibly although not sure may have to unbolt the converter.

I CANT TELL YOU FOR SURE HOW MANY TRANY TO ENGINE BOLTS THERE ARE BUT YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO FEEL AROUND THE TRANNY. THE TRANY WILL STILL BE STIFF COMING OUT BECAUSE IT IS MADE OF ALUMINIUM AND THE BLOCK IS CAST SO THEY CORRODE TOGETHER, THE LAST TRANNY I PULLED 4L60 OUT OF A SAFFARI I HAD TO TAP A SCREW DRIVER INBETWEEN THE BLOCK AND THE TRANNY TO FREE IT UP. IT WILL BE STIFF..

Well i just replaced my 4l60e and i can tell you it has 6 bolt, plus 3 tc to flexplate bolts that also need to be removed, then there are two studs that hold the tranny in position. all you need to do to get the tranny loose from the studs is to jack it up slightly and pull it backwards about 2 inches and this should free it up to drop. MAKE SURE ALL YOUR ELECTRICAL AND COOLER LINES ARE UNPLUGGED BEFORE FULLY DROPPING THE TRANSMISSION! On and by the way it took me a week to get thr thing out and the new one in.
