Hey guys, I'm looking at buying a 01 Silverado Ext. Cab. It's got 188K on the engine, no rebuilds on it or the tranny. Leather interior, flowmaster turn down, good specs. My question is, how much longer can I expect this truck to run without any big repair needs? And is 4K a good asking price for a truck like this? Any help is really appreciated

 

I'd do it....drive it first though. See how it shifts, rides, accelerates. That sorta thing. These trucks last forever if maintained properly

 

Ok thanks! Yeah I'm a stickler about upkeep, if I get it I'm hoping to keep it for quite a while.

 

The question is how did the previous owner take care of the truck. Does he have records of what he had to repair on the truck? How often did he change the oil? I have a 99 that runs like it was brand new, but I bought it brand new and changed the oil and filter every 4,000 miles.
