'02 Silverado will not start
Hello all,
Brand new to this forum. My '02 Silverado which has 214K miles has always started perfectly. My wife took it to work this past Friday and when she was ready to leave at 5:00 it would not start. Just turn over and over and never hit. Just put on a brand new battery on 7/5. Fuel Pump? Need your expert advise.

Sometimes you can get a vehicle with a bad fuel pump to start if you beat on the tank some. When my fuel pump went out, I used a long screw driver and beat on the tank with the handle. Obviously you don't want to beat hard enough to deform or puncture your tank.
This won't necessarily confirm that it's a bad pump; it's possible that trash in the tank could have clogged the pump up, and after beating on it or letting it sit, it could have loosened the clog enough to let the vehicle start.
Just a suggestion, it may put you a step in the right direction depending on what happens.
Also, you can have someone try starting it while you beat on it.
You might also have a faulty battery, though that's unlikely.
