Question 04 2500 6.0 Tachometer and A/C problems

So my tachometer doesn't work. It spikes and drops and just chilles in the middle. Also my A/C goes warm and cold when I accelerate or sit at a intersection. So I bring it in to have them look at both issues. The stealership says after they charged my a/c the tach started to work again. They say they couldn't find any leaks and now the a/c works like it should. I guess when I get up there to pick her up we'll see how well it is.

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this???

So the A/C is ice cold and works like a champ. I got 10 miles down the road and the tack still F'ed up. Does anyone know more info on recalls? I was told there was a recall on the cluster but I am the 3rd owner and not sure if it something that was done in the past or if me being the 3rd owner can have a Chevy dealership do for no charge. Is there a way of looking up your vin and see if there are any outstanding recalls on your vehicle. There is only 60k on it and its an 04.

The dealers can check for outstanding recalls on you truck. Just call them up and give your vin. If any are outstanding they will still be performed for you at no charge.

Just make sure to do it fairly quickly, if i recal right it only covers upto 70K miles, if that is your problem and you have to pay for it yourself the cheapest fix il be a rebuild cluster for around $200,
