My 1991 Silverado was acting like this for a long time, bumpy hard ride wherever I went. I looked underneath it and saw that the factory shocks were rusted through and probably shot. Mine has 134k mileage on it. I recently had them replaced, and it made a WORLD of difference. The ride in it is very nice now. I would definitely say replace them, as your mileage is about the same as mine, and mine were probably long overdue.

I want a softer more comfortable ride. My truck came with the Z71 pacakage. Bilsteins? So, is the Monroe Gasmatic the best way to go? Everything on stock/new. How much of a difference will there be between the stock Bilsteins and Monroe Gasmatics? What about Sensatrac? Thank you.

Thanks. I am quite sure this is the way to go on a smoother ride. Will adding the Monroe Gasmatics void any warranty? I mean, the truck is brand new.

i had 90K on my truck and each time mama rode in it she ask for the barf bag.

I removed the old shocks, each shock was completely dead, you could just push them in/out with no effort. Guess they should have been replaced at 50-60K

I replaced them with HD monroe gas shocks, about $50 each and they make the old truck ride and drive much better,

no barf bad needed now!!!!

i really did not notice any difference in ride as the ride goes a slow rate.
but she noticed a big difference as she rarely rides in my truck.

Could you let me know how that goes? I want a smoother ride also and the Z71 Bilsteins are way too stiff. Thanks.
