Default 06 water pump seeping around pressed neck

My 06 z71 is seeping antifreeze around where the metal neck is pressed into waterpump housing it self. Its not seeping even enough to where it drips on the ground, just kind of runs down the waterpump a little and stays wet where the neck is pressed into the housing. I was thinking about cleaning it, and putting some sort of sealer around the neck first and see if that works before I spend the money to put a new waterpump on it. What do yall think?

Maybe clean it, put some jb welb around it, or some sort of silicone or sealer. What do you think would work?

I take it it's the inlet or outlet. I suggest if you are wanting to keep the truck, fix it properly. Replace the pump.

Yeah it is kind of one of those things you can either get the problem out of your way or put a band aid on it. Personally if you have the money for it just replace it now but if not you can put some sealer on there and will last you good while.

Are you sure it is not coming from the hose/hose clamp attached to it?

Pretty sure its not hose clamp. I have the money to fix it but I've ran it 4 months without getting any worse.

Try FLEX SEAL....it will save you $1000's....

Just keep an eye on it and change out the water pump when you have the funds available. It not to bad of a job to do yourself.

For a while there, I was replacing my W/P so often, I keep the tools

in my truck.

The first one went at 24K, IIRC, and was replaced under warranty.

48K, same thing, but I replaced it myself, and in the process, I

noticed the EOM fan clutch is a real brick. I replaced it with one

about 1/4 the weight, and I've been having a lot less issues...

I just think its shameful on what I've had to do to this truck the past 9 months, only 68k on it now. Had to re route the fuel assembly because I kept getting the service engine light kept coming on, needs water pump, seal in front differential, butt part of my heated seat doesn't work. Ridiculous!
