Whine from Radio on Startup and when gas pressed
I've just started having a whinning or buzz coming from my 03 Suburban LT. It seems to be coming from the radio. When I first start the car, it has a buzz in the speakers and then it quits, whether the radio is on or not. When I turn the radio on, it comes back and is more prevelant. The sound or speed of the buzz goes up and down according to whether I'm pressing the gas pedal.
We did just replace the fuel filter, and talk about a pain. Whoever had the bright idea to go to the design away from the 2 nut connection, has some problems in the head. Ended up having to cut the nipple on the filter and then was able to use the "tool" to get it out.
Was also wondering if this could be related to the fuel pump. I've read some of the other forums about the fuel pump problem. Mine, I found it thankfully while I was at work. If mine gets below 1/4 of a tank, it will not start back up. Once I get the gas level over 1/4, starts up fine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

to my knowledge this is a common accurance on suburbans the fuel thing that is, all the ones I have drove besdie the newer ones die on cornering when below 1/4 tank, and wont start, if they are not level, pan in the ***.....the whine could be altenator, or bad ground the fuel pump change prolly wound not have caused it unless you clipped some stereo wires somewhere
Id love to TRY and explain it. But i cant I have the same thing going on in my work van. Its a 2001 2500. radio off and I get a faint whine in the speakers. And better yet my nextel radio/phone makes it go crazy right before it rings. the altenator noise has something to do with the grounding of the stereo and speakers and crap like that. Is it an aftermarket stereo deck? if so id say put on the filter for like 5 bucks and see what happens.

i will tell you all now, this is due to a bad ground connection. dont go get a noise filter, you need to track down the grounding points you messed with when replacing fuel filter, and make sure they are making good contact. make sure they arent loose, or corroded. im 99% sure that its the ground. dont believe a noise filter will fix the problem, not only that why go spend money, if all it takes is a wrench (i assume you already have that)?
