Then I would look forkit for your truck online, I would suggest summit racing, jegs, autoanything, just to name a few, they should sell catback systems for your truck. What you are going to probably want is a duel in, single out muffler with a 3" mandrel bent tail pipe. the 3" mandrel bent pipe will give you more volume (meaning less back pressure) than a duel out 2" pipes will.

oh ok. i feel like an idiot askin this but how do i know if i have two cats? i know that before the muffler that the pipes are split and go to different sides of the truck. the muffler is stock so its one inlet and one outlet. thanks for all the info.

The cat kind oflooks like a muffler, but smaller. The cat has to come before the muffler, so ifthe cat is not between the muffler andwhere the pipes come together then youwill have two cats. You may want to follow the lines and see where it/they are located, never hurts to know your truck better.

RE: 07 4.3L v6 nbs
the cats on my truck are located on each of the exhaust pipes that come out of my stock exhaust manifold before it ties into one pipe.
i was told that the factory cats are "highflow" cats vs. the older trucks and not to replace them with highflow cats. anyone know the truth in this?

i can't seem to find a dual inlet/single outlet muffler. woulda single inlet/outlet be good? also what about a flowmaster 40 or super 40? i have never dealt with exhaust before and i do know that i won't ever get that "v8" sound either.
