07 4.3L v6 nbs
hello folks. i got an 07 reg cab 2wd sb nbs w/ 4.3L v6. the gas mileage is terrible. i am getting an overall 13.7 mpg!! what could be done to help the mpg?? i am not a leadfoot, and try to avoid stop lights. i would've gotten the 4.8L v8 but there were none on the lot that i could afford (im a college student). so if anyone else has the v6, what is your mpg? thanks.

yeah i am thinking about adding a flowmaster to it. i also want to get different gears like 3.92's. anyone know where to get them and how much they cost plus labor? thanks.

If you switch for those to 2.91, you will probably get worse mileage. 3.21 are are already highway gears and if you go in the direction of 2.91 then your engine will (yes, have less rpms at higher speeds, but) have to work harder to get up hills. Thats probably why your mileage is only 13.5, because engine is already working really hard to get up hills or starting from a stop. I would head in the direction of 3.43 or 3.73 gears. I have 3.43's and am getting 15-18.
