Default 08 Guys What's working for you??

OK Guys, I have a 08 Silverado and I'm ready for some up grades. I want to do the Exhaust and some wheels and tires. My dealer told me that I could go with a 4" lift and a cat back system without voiding the warranty. I thinking 5" stainless MRBP for the exhaust and 20X9 rims with 305/55/20 tires. Anybody running this? How is it for road noise and ride? Post some pic's if you can. Thanks!

Hey Rookie69,

Welcome to the forums.

DNK how many replies you're going to get about pre-warranty expiration upgrades, most of us wait till the warranty has expired for two reasons:

1)Obviously, we don't want to risk voiding the warranty.

2)More importantly, you're not going to see a large selection of aftermarket goodies until things start to wear out,(just AFTER the warranty expires)and subsequently,
they are in higher demand.

The fun thing about Silverado is there's generally a large selection of different performance stuff available.

Well, my Dealer said a CAT back system is OK and anything 4" and lower is cool as well.

the dealer where I bought my 08, about a month ago, told me that any aftermarket exhaust will void the warranty.

looks like he sold the truck no matter what he said!....iv'e heard from a buddy of mine they were not going to cover his repairs because he had installed bigger tires...go figure....anyway i did the same thing bought a 40,000 dollar truck to hack up the suspension and do engine mods..ohhh well...and for some reason i even opted for an extended warranty..no 20's....run some 17's with some 40 inchers.and put a soild front axle in her and raise it 12"....that would look sweet

im not positive but tring to stuff 20's under a 4 inch lift could be close

and mbrp make sgreat exhaust setups

and for noise most mud terrains will start to get loud on the road once they wear,at least any mud ive ran has...at's will be quiter

im assuming your truck is a half ton?...post up some pics

Hey, don't get me wrong, you're free to do whatever you think is best. Knock yourself out, but know this:

What dealership salesmen say, and what dealership warranty departments fix free, are two entirely different things.

Do to the salesman what the warranty department is going to do to YOU. Tell him "Show me that in print.".

I didn't get that from the Salesman. I called the warranty department last week. I'll go in there and have them show it to me. I'll let you know. I have a buddy running 33/12.5/20's with a 2.5" leveling kit. His truck looks Great also.
