Default 09 Hybrid with 220,000 miles...........THOUGHTS?

Hey everyone,

I have been looking for a truck, and stumbled upon a CRAZY deal on an 09 Silverado with ever option known to man. Bad is it has 220,000 miles on it. I know nothing about these engines, and usually a higher mileage vehicle wouldn't scare me off but I thought Id try and get some info from you pros.

Id be using it mostly as a daily drive and the only thing Id be towing is my two snowmobiles. Clean title and he says it runs and drives great.

Also, truck is in Canada, anyone know of any reason it would be difficult to import? I cant think of any.

Guy wants $9500 for it.

Thanks for your input guys and gals

How well was it maintained? Remember it still has a very high mileage gas engine and trans. It will likely need news hybrid battery in the next 1-2 years at a cost of $1500-2500. You will not find many DIY people with hybrid trucks which is why you have not gotten much response. If it were me I would never pay almost 10k for anything with that much mileage.

Didn't even know they make a hybrid truck...
I believe the transmission is different for the hybrid so it is likely to cost more then the traditional transmission to rebuild/replace....
I don't think the engine is any different other then the charging system setup...

Yeah I was thinking the batteries would need to be replaced most likely, but then I saw something that made me think it was just the regular car battery that ran the electric engine......... Its tough to find any schematic on the design of how it all works.

Its funny that a $60,000 truck can be worth only $9000 4 1/4 yrs later.......

Also, I wasn't sure if the "HYBRID" setup was essential to the truck running. So if the batteries did die or something, the truck would still work as just a regular truck...............
