hi there,

i got a '77 pickup which has been stalling/cuting out on me randomnly as a i am driving. when it happens the motor seems to struggle and if i continue to press the gas it revs very porrly and then shuts off. after pulling over i try to start it again and it cranks or even sometimes runs but then cuts out again. seems to occur when i am accelerating or pushing hard on the gas pedal.the strange thing that each time i have stalled i have eventually gotten it to run and it drives home fine. when it runs it runs strong and sound good. i have checked the compression, vaccum and spark and all was good. i have replaced the the fuel pump, battery and fuel filter. please any suggestions would help.

If i had to guess, the carb was the issue. My '77 has the QuadraJet 4 barrel (better known as the QuadraBOG) They are famous for bogging the engine down
