Blew a head gasket so put on some rebuilt heads. With my aftermarket temp gauge and my laser gauge, I get 225 to 230 at the sensor between 6 and 8 cylinder. Just about the same between 1 and 3(little cooler). New 195 thermostat which the temp gauge says is at about 200. Enters the radiator around that and at the bottom hose is coming in about 180.

New water pump, I flushed the block over and over before putting on the heads.

My question....is this too warm at the heads? Thinking if it is, then a radiator is the next step. Thanks!

That is my hope. After doing all this work, I don't want to end up blowing another head gasket! It makes sense to me that they can't run as cool as the thermostat because they are closer to the combustion and also to the exhaust ports.
