Default 1991 Chevy 2500 heater problems

Got in my truck today on a beautiful -20' C day in Edmonton Alberta and my heater isn't working. The fluid levels are fine and the dashboard controls work but I can't hear the blower at all when I turn the heater on. If the thermostat is gone will this autmatically cause the heater to stop blowing or is this an issue with the blower motor or heater core? Any ideas? Thanks.

The thermostat wont stop the blower from working. my guess is its a fuse or the blower motor or a wire/switch. What do you mean the dash stuff works?

Yeah it's a crispy -34 here in Winnipeg ... like matador says it has something to do with the blower motor or the electrical.

Hi Matador, when I mentioned the dashboard I was referring to the heater controls. When I push the defrost etc I can hear the switch click on and off but as I can't hear or feel the blower. Also, I checked the fuse and it is fine. Is there any way to check if it is the blower fan without removing it? Is it difficult to pull it?
