1991 Caprice 5.0l - Heater Control Cable
Still trying to restore my late Dad's Caprice .
No heat . The mechanical control cable does not appear to be moving the blend door .
Does anyone have info and / or pdf's of the heater and the control cable ?
Thanks , :-)

Got the cable attached and coolant flow through the " water valve " !
Praise the lord !
Getting warm air , not hot air , but much better than what we were getting .
Still more things I need to work on . But , with snow on the ground , warm air is a good thing . :-)

Heater control cable
I was viewing old forums and ran across this one. If you have AC and still aren't getting heat, look for a heater valve which should be located on the right front inner fender if it is like my older Impala. There should also be a vacuum line that controls this valve. If you don't have vacuum to it or if the valve is plugged or stuck, you won't get full heat out of your heater. The other possibility is that the cable going to the diverter door is out of adjustment making the door not closing all the way. Good luck if you haven't found the problem by now.

I got this working last winter . A couple of things . The little black rotary vacuum switch had broken and the vacuum hose going to the water valve ( in the engine compartment ) was stopped up .
I replaced the vacuum valve and re-routed a new vacuum line .
Seems like I did have to re-attach the mechanical control cable , also .
Thanks :-)

PS - I found out the water valve defaults to heat , with no vacuum applied .
