Granted, this is true, however if you dropped a crate 350 in there, wouldn't it run better? Obviously stuff builds up after time, so JW.

I have a cold air intake, straight piped exhaust, running 35inch A/T Tires and I'm getting 14mpg. But Mine is also a short bed single cab, and I have lightened my old girl up as much as possible.

What are your rpms? What cam, intake, exaust are you running?
A common mistake, most people build for HP then wonder why it won't pull, HP is high rpm, torque is low rpm, cruzing down the highway is low rpm. Rethink your build,

ps. I get 17 to 20. with a stock WS6 LT1, CIA, Small/short tube headers, 27lb type 3 injectors, no EGR, and a dyno tune. 330lbs torque around 2200, right at 70 mph where I need it, But I knew what I wanted to do with it in the real world. Bender!

Lord have mercy! what are you planning to do man? start a demolition derby on the bypas at noon? 5mpg is a good figure for that tank. LOL loose the 13 ton bumper and you will gain 4 mpg back.
