1999 Silverado 1500 5.3L fule gauge problem
Vehicle: 1999 1500 5.3L 4x4 with 103000 miles
I am almost certain this is a sending unit problem but i just want to make sure. about 5 times a day the gauge will read full... then empty...then full...then empty again with the message center light going off all the time saying im out of gas when i just filled it up. If this is a sending unit problem about how much will that part be ( and could someone link the part i will need)and how much will labor cost me? Thanks again.

before you replace sending unit, do this: go to library, look it up in chilton, and clean negative contact. both sending unit and fuel pump negatives have a lot of gripe on the internet.
reason i said - look it up 1st is i came across quite a few posts saying that you have to either be a contortionist to get to them, or pull truck bed off. 4 strong men job.
