Default 1999 z71 5.3 low oil pressure

My 99 5.3 when starting eng cold oil pressure is very low unless rpm is at 1500, after warms up stays at around 40 has 183,000 miles

oil is too thick. unless you live in sub zero temps, you should be running 5w30 or 10w30. 20w30 is too thick

You will destroy that engine with that oil. It can not circulate it. Put 5-30 in it and see what happens.

the only think I put 20-50 in was my harley. Diesel trucks don't use oil that heavy. should help alot to use 5-30. I think maxx ment to thick unless you live on the sun.
