2000 1500 air filter

2000 1500 air filter
I'm buying a 2000 silverado 1500, it has a K&N air filter on it. My question is, will this affect it passing smog? I live in California. The seller doesn't have the stock air box, so I might have to buy one.

No, K&N pays for a special cert that says their filter is smog friendly, which of coarse is all BS.
Now on the other hand, spectre that you see at auto parts stores are not smog legal.
IIWY I would swing by an auto parts store and get an oiling/cleaning kit.
you need to keep that filter oiled or it's not gonna filter.
