2000 silverado noise

i have no idea. the stuff inside broke up and made a noticeable rattling noise. it was annoying for a couple weeks. it only had 89k on it and was out of warranty. :/ dealer only item. 630 for the part.
when the dealer took it off the truck they turn the vertically and pieces just fell out everywhere.
