2001 silverado hesitates to start
My truck has 130000 miles and 3000 on a new engine and it started dieing out out a few times and finally it died and did not start again, I replaced the fuel pump and it fired right up and drove with no problem. Then 2 days later it started taking a while to start I have to turn it over for 5 or so seconds and it starts firing like its starving for gas but it eventually starts and then runs with no problem, Ive replaced the fuel pump, filter, checked the fuses, and switched the relay with my ac and horn relay. I have no idea what the problem is CAN ANYONE HELP????

I take it's Fuel Injected?! There are a couple of things that you can do before diving into Sensors and Vac and all of that stuff. The first thing I would do is reset the ECU (Computer). With all of the work you done it would be a good idea to try it first. Just disconnect battery for a while an reconnect. Some trucks will require a proceedure to clear the ECU. I'm not sure about your model. Hopefully someone will chime in. Also, you might want to treat for water in the fuel. Get you a couple of bottles of Heet or a couple of bottles of Rubbing Alcohol 91% or better and throw it in the tank with no less than half a tank. Keep us posted. Good Luck!

Since it is slow to start but runs fine after start up I would check my timing. Is it slow to start when cold only? If so might want to start at your temp sensor. Again I would treat for Water in the Fuel. 9 times out of 10 that is what takes out a Fuel Pump.

I pulled the pump again to make sure everythink looked right and it did i even looked in the tank to see if i saw any water or trash and it looked clean, the guys at autozone said it could be with the injectors they got dirt pushed tp them but i dont know about that since it runs and drives fine. does the pump its self have a check valve in it? because i can blow air through the pump then i can tap it and it wil stop and i cant blow any air through the old pump, so i wonder if it is losing pressure that way and its not wanting to start right up. should the lines hold pressure when the truck is off?
