Default 04 Tahoe hesitates at start-up...

Have an 04 Tahoe, 2wd, 4.8l, that has 200k miles, but is in really good shape and we have taken pretty good care of it. Recently it has started to hesitate quite a bit when starting, to the point where you have to give it gas in order to start it...it doesn't do it all the time, and most of the time does not do it first thing in the morning- I would say 10% of the time. Had a guy check the fuel pump and he said it tested out ok, and he didn't have any other good ideas what it could be, he asked about fuel filter, but I think it is a lifetime filer in the tank.

Anyone else have this type of problem ? Going up and down the road it does good...

Whats in the tank is a sock on the pickup (suction line). Replace the filter, it's going to be clamped to the frame I believe.
