Default S10 engine hesitates and struggles

I have 96 s10 4.3L V6. When I reach a constant driving speed and my rpm's are around 2200 the engine starts to hesitate and struggle however when I accellerate or decellerate there is no problem. I gave it a tune up plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter and pcv valve and this did not help. Any suggestions on what the problem is or how to fix it would be appreciated.

Thanks
Matt

I had an issue with a Saturn a few years ago where I thought it had a bad timing problem. It was very sluggish and accelerated very poorly. It even knocked like the timing belt was going bad or something. It drove me crazy and I thought I had a real expensive fix on my hands. It turned out that the pellets and structure inside the catalytic converter had come loose. I got it replaced and it was like a new vehicle again. Sometimes you can knock on the converter with a hammer or 2x4 and hear the loose items inside rattle around.

Just a thought...Maybe rare, but it does happen.
