2005 2500hd rattle in front end
I have a 2005 chevy 2500hd 6.0l 4x4. when i go over bumps and the such it makes a rattle in front on both sides. the steering does not seem to be affected. when i step on brakes it goes away! I know, just step on brakes all the time!! LOL. Doesn't matter how fast i go ( 10 mph on up). i don't think it is the intermediate steering issue i have seen on here alot. seems to be something with the brakes. 135,000 miles and brake pads are in great shape. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!
Had kinda the same rattle situation on my 2007 - damn OEM front shocks were shot in less than two years! I put aftermarket gas shocks on it - still had a bit of a rattle but found I didn't have the upper mounts nuts tightened good enough.
The OEM shocks were junk front and back - you could compress them with one hand and they would stay compressed. Not a hapy camper at that point.

thanks for the info guys. changed the metal clips that brake pads ride on. didn't look worn but changed anyhow. fixed the rattle. yahoo! doesn't sound like a wreck going down road anymore.
