2005 Driveshaft???
[
] I have 2005 Chevy 1500 with 24000 miles. First I went back to the dealer for the steering wheel problem that sounds like alot of people have or had. That was fixed. Now, when I give it gas I feel a clunk in the drive train. It doesn't happen all the time, but enough for me to take it bake to the dealer. They couldn't find anything wrong but did feel the clunk and was advise by Chevy to replace the shock housings which they did. But after I pick up the truck it is still doing it. Does anyone else have or had this problem and what did you do?
Thanks,
Tom

I had that problem with my 01 go the dealer and ask for gm special lube drop the drive shaft take a screw driver with glob of the lube and rub it around inside were the splines and put it back together that helped mine and i did it over a year ago good luck
My 2006 does the same thing it's done it since day 1 it now has 900 miles on it , i'm going to try and take it to the dealer soon. just waiting to get more info about it on here so i can tell them what it might be ! because i know they going to say WE DON"T SEE ANYTHING WRONG
Rod Man,
Tell me what happens. Yesterday I was coming home from Fishing pulling a BassBoat with the A/C on and it made that noise alot more when trailering. I had the button push in for the over drive but keeps making that u-joint noise. Keep me updated and when I go back to the dealer I'll post.

If it is kluncking it is more than likely u-joints. I would tell the dealer you want new u-joints. I have had a few pick-ups that did that, when I got under them I couldn't move the U-joints/driveshat. But I changed them anyway and I fixed it. If they have already been replaced you can grease them and that will help, but you cannot grease factory u-joints.
well, it's just as i said it would be took to the stealership today they said COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG gave me this bulletin that GM had on this clunking sound in drivetrain. all it says is that it is normal they just used BIGGER WORDS to say it.

Rod Man,
My truck is back at the dealers. This Time the pass side door lock. Small repair but, I told then about the drive shaft. They said there going to look at it again. I'll post with results.
