Default 2005 Questions

I came from a 96 Silverado and just upgraded to a 2005 5.3L Ext. Cab 2WD and have a few questions/concerns on it maybe some of you can help me out with.

1- When I put the fan control on recirculate (not A/C) it still blows cold. Seems like the same temperature as with the A/C on. Has anyone ever heard of this?

2- The front bump stops over the lower a-arm has a clearance of about 1" or less until it makes contact with the a-arm.The truck is stock height. Is that a normal gap?

I know I have a few more questions, but I'll post as I remember. Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Are you trying to use the heat when you put on recirculate?
As far as the front end goes, is everything stock?

TransAm,
Thanks for the reply.
On a day that is not real warm, but need cool air not cold, I'll just put the fan on cool setting recirculate w/o a/c. It blows clod just like the A/C would, but A/C light is not on.
As far as the suspension goes, it looks all stock to me.

would you happen to be on the defrost setting?
a\c comes on automatically when in defrost to help de-humidfy the windshield

It sounds like you have a short in climate control system. I am not too familiar with that particular models system, it either is vacuum, wire, or electronically controlled. This might be far fetched but if you have a junk yard near by, go see if they have the same climate control system you do. You could probably get it for $20, if you were to go to a dealer in would cost around $300

When you hit recirc button, that turns on the AC compressor if it is set to a cold enough temperature, my 05 Z71 is the same way.
it will blow AC on recircunless you crank the temp contol up some to a warmer setting, then it doesnt call for the compressor to run. Your bump stop gap is normal in the front also. mine touch onthe 072500HD if that tells you anything.
