2006 4.8L Engine Tapping Constantly
I just rolled 102,000 miles on my 2006 Crew Cab, and the engine started to tap like a couple of old chevy pick ups I use to own. It sounds like a lifter issue. The thing that baffles me is how quickly it started. It wasn't something that came on slowly and got louder over time. It was wham! I can hear it during acceleration, no matter if it's cold or at running temp.
Is there anything I can run through the oil, like Marvel Mystery Oil or something that might help it out? I've changed the oil every 3-6K religiously, even though they say you can go 7500.
Thanks for any advice you folks have.

I just picked up some MMO and will put some in tomorrow morning. I have Seafoam too and have used it in my Jeep with success, but I've never tried it for engine tapping. Looking forward to seeing what happens. Thanks for the advice!
Back in the olden days (70's) we used to run a quart of Dexron Tranny fluid added to the oil for a thousand miles or so. I understood that it had a high detergent level and cleaned everything out. It worked for my 307 & 305.
