i recently bought a 06 2500hd with the 6.0 it has 4:10 gears and i was wandering what in the world i could do to improve gas mileage.. i know the usual cold air.. programmer and exhaust but ne thing else? gah its horrible like 13.8 on highway and 11 around town[][]

 

well i think this is the nature of the beast .any thing with 4:10 gear's through the gas out the window .i have a 2001 2500hd 4x4 the absoute best i got was 13.1 ,the window sticker said epa milage estimate's do not apply !

 

I had an 05 with same set up with same results. The 4:10's are a killer so I got an 07 vortex max & 3:73 Gears (2WD) & I get 14 city & 19 on the road better, but when I tow my trailers it goes down to 8 &1/2 same as before.

 

oh well i guess ill just get a better job and keep the truck lol
