I would suggest working with your dealership to get this issue figured out. They would be the most knowlegeable on this issue. They would be able to diagnose your problems and give you a fix for your vehicle. I hope that helps.

Check engine light on? Only doing it in overdrive, makes me think trans prob, but that doesn't seem right. Could be a sesnor having to do with the Torgue converter. How many RPMs does it seem to surge?

No engine lights on. And surges maybe a couple hundred rpm's. It is a 5.3 litre. And it only does it in overdrive. But drives me crazy!!!!!

That sounds like the Torque Converter. When the TC locks or unlocks, I'm not 100% on the theory of operation but I have an idea, the engine drops 2-400RPMS, or rises 2-400RPMs. With it being an '06, I think it could be a sensor. I'm not sure which one works the TC. Someone else will chime in on this I'm sure.

Possible a Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid, but I'm not sure what all characterics they show when failing. I know can be the cause of a torque converter not locking at all.
