2007 Silverado 2500 low fuel warning
I have a 2007 Silverado 2500 extended cab long bed Z71 Duramax/Allison. When the low fuel warning actives I have never been able to put more than 23 gallons of fuel in the tank and the miles remaining are below 75 miles. Per all the manuals and information, this truck should have a 34 gallon tank. It acts as though the computer and gauges are setup for a 26 gallon tank. Anyone else notice this problem?

I don't think its a computer setting, I believe it is based upon what the fuel pump float is seeing the level at...
I think Chevrolet Customer Service posted something on this( fuel tank size) in the truck or Tahoe forum... you might search for it...

Thanks in2pro. I wasn't able to find anything else related to my question on the forum, but then I'm kind of new at this. Is it safe to figure that when I get a low fuel warning that I should still have 10 gallons of fuel in reserve, or will the fuel pump float turn the pump off at some point with 10 gallons of fuel still in the tank?

I do not know for sure how many gallons are left when the warning light comes on but I do know for sure that with a long bed truck like yours you would have a 34 gallon tank. I would suggest possibly speaking with a dealer about this issue. They would be able to diagnose the issue and fix it as well if need be. I hope this helps you.

I apologize but I do not have information on that kind of system in my resources. I would suggest speaking with your dealership to see if they would know about a system like this.

For what ever reason 3 gallons left comes to mind when the fuel light comes on, I don't recall where I got that number but it sounds reasonable and it should put you in the neighborhood of about 50 miles or less..
paxz71usa you might take a look under similar vehicles to yours to see if for some crazy reason you have the smaller tank...
When you do get the light on, bang on the tank and feel/hear if it is close to empty... you will know if you have 10 gallons left...
EDIT: if you have a skid plate over(under) your tank you may not be able to....
