Default 2007 Silverado Brake light issue

Not sure if this is normal for these trucks, but I have never owned a vehicle that does this before.

If I rest my foot slightly on the brake pedal, the brake light comes on, then goes out.

Give it some more pressure and it comes on, then goes out.

apply good pressure and the light stays lit.

Is there some kind of G-force sensor that only allows the brake lights to light up when the truck is actually slowing down?

Is the brake light sensor a pressure sensor, or a switch that releases when the pedal is depressed?

I have 1000 miles left on the bumper to bumper warranty. should i just bring it in and let the dealer worry about it?

I would rather fix it myself if its something small and cheap because its easier than being without a vehicle while the truck is at the dealer.

with my 04 1500 when i lightly push on the brake pedal the brakes go on as long as i keep my foot on it. i would take it to the dealer. do you have a deductible on your warranty?

Not sure if there is a deductible on the factory warranty? I will call them up on Monday and find out
