Default 2008 Chevy Silverado 4.8L V8 Low oil pump pressure.

I need to replace the oil pump on my 08 Silverado for that i will need to drop the oil pan, but does anyone know if am required to lift the engine??? fast answers will be appreciated. thanx

That really is an uncommon problem.
did you verify the pump was bad or are you basing this on what the gauge reads?

Besides my gauge is not reading any pressure whatsoever, the low oil pressure light came on and stop engine light came on as well. Then its making a taping noise. What do you suggest it could be? could it just be the oil sensor ? any suggestions are welcome and thank you in advance.

the first step would be to check the oil level.


if its not low, the next step would be to verify the oil pressure at idle and 2500rpm at the filter and oil pressure sensor with a master gauge.
