For the record, I wasn't at an official track, but rather a buddy of mine has a private air strip, so I had a good, long, wide *empty*lane. Didn't go back again due to him saying I needed a helmet next time (not to mention the 100 mi round trip), but if I remember correctly, with what speedy said, I think mine was probably around 107-8 somethin like that. Then the tach went from 5500 to 3400 and stuck there.

if you "build" a silverado on chevrolet.com, there is the option of adding a 70mph governor in case some of you didn't know.

can honestly say that i havent had my 08 over 85. usually average 80 when going to the cabin whether im pulling the boat with the wheeler in back or nothing at all. still averaging around 17 when going 80 though so i guess it makes sense to go that fast.

Seriously guys, a pick up is not designed for high speed emergency maneuvers (example - something runs out into your lane, you have a blow out, the list goes on) You are playing with fire and will eventually get burned.

I have seen first hand the devastating effects these decisions can have. If you have to go fast, go to an official track.
Sometimes in Southern California thats the flow of traffic.

My 2007 NBS tops out at 97 until I get a programmer. I don't necessarily feel the need to go that fast or faster, but I don't like someone else deciding for me.
