Hello All,

i just gave my 2008 silverado 1500 an oil change.
i went to synthetic oil because everyone said it was the best but, my change oil soon light is now popping up in my display!!!
any ideas?

 

Did you reset the computer? On my 2008 I scroll through the display until it reads oil life remaining and reset it. On my wifes Toyota you have to hold the trip button in for a few seconds while powering up the car. I'd suggest checking your manual to see how yours is done.

 

Check the reset. If you do not have the OLF display due to a lower model truck, like mine, you can find the readout after you reset the trip OD by scrolling through the odometer using the reset button. ONce you are on the readout, just push and hold the trip OD button until it resets. Many times the Chevy dealer forgets to do that, so I have to do it for them.
