2009 Parking lights won manually turn on
Hello Folks,
Just purchased my first Chevy pickup. I remember from a 2002 Malibu i had you could manually turn on the headlights or just parking lights even if it wasn't dark enough to trigger the automatic head lights.
I can't get just the parking lights to turn on manually. When I move the switch to headlights (all the way to the right) just the headlamps turn on. No parking lights or taillights.
Auto is working just fine, when dark enough, headlights and parking lights turn on correctly. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum
The positions should be, Off, Auto, headlamps, parking lamps, on the dial ****.. that is how they are on my 07 Tahoe....
Here is a link to your owners manual, and a picture of the page of how to operate the head lamps

Thanks for your help!
I have downloaded the manual. It seems that the parking lamp position isn't functioning and the headlamp position only turns on the headlamps. No taillights.
Auto is working normally.
At night I want to be able to just turn on the parking lamps while parked. I need this for work. Thanks again!

If the parking lamp position is not working, I would try removing the switch and seating the electrical connector, and if you can get the switch open maybe try cleaning it...

You may be able to see up under that portion of the dash, if so you may be able to see that its held in with clips and you can wiggle it straight out.

Ok, was able to remove the headlight switch fairly easy. Just 2 screws and a bunch of clips. the plug that plugs into the switch looks to have had something attached to it at one time using splices. Also, there is a smaller plug not plugged into anything. You'll see what I mean in the pictures.
