Definitely a good idea. My 97 Truck had the RCD kit, and it had those kicker
braces too. Do you or any one else have a opinion on the CST kit (California Super Truck) system. There under carriage is a one piece which may make it stronger. I was thinking about buying that system before I read your earlier
paragraph on the RCX system. I did not know about it, and it is a lot cheaper. As for 37's I guess I will stay with 35's and there cheaper too. I definitely like the spring option, that should help with any wheel hopping as oppose to the lifting blocks. The RCD I bought the traction bars and I never had any problems. Thanks again for your input.

Question for biggg11chevy, I just received my springs from atlas. You stated that they bolt right up. What I see is the new springs are wider then the stock springs. So did you have to change the mounting points for fitment. The new are 3 1/2" wide the stock is 3" wide. No way are they going to bolt up
with out modifying the mounting points. Thanks Jim.

They must have sent you the wrong ones Jim. You didnt order them for an 11 did you? becuase thats when they changed the width. 99 to 06 is the set you want but its also works on 07-10 3/4 tons and 99on 1/2. They changed the undercarraige on the 3/4 and 1 tons in 11 they are actually 2.5 on 1/2 and 3/4, and 3 on the 1ton(11 is 3 0n 3/4 and 1ton) Measure the spring itself maybe the bushings are big?? The part # I referenced is what I ordered and they bolted right up? Thats odd, let me know the outcome?

Yep that's what I did. I told them they were going on a 2011. but did not say it was a 1500. So I called Atlas am told them what had happen. I could send them back, but the freight and the 15% restocking fee I figure I will try to sell them locally. I did order the right one for my truck, 2011 1500 with a 8" lift. So I learned, next time talk to them, that way no screw up. Thanks for you response. Jim.

Alright im getting closer to ordering my lift, just have another question. I had a 20003 chevy before that i had lifted and i kept breaking cv shafts when in 4 wd and cranked all the way, have you done much off roading with it? or used 4wd much with wheels cranked all the way? any problems with braking cv shafts?

well my 1997 had the RCD lift and never has had any problems. We do not four wheel with it, but we use the four wheel in the winter on ice and snow
with no problems. As for breaking parts, any time you go wheeling with big tires and stock parts, you run the risk of breakage. You could try and see if there are up grades for the front axles, but I don't know of any.
