2019 Silverado 1500 LT Power Lift Tailgate?
Does the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT come with the power tailgate lift standard from the factory? Mine powers open but won’t power close. The power tailgate button on my fob and on my console will power open but neither will power lift. The window sticker lists “TAILGATE WITH LIFT ASSIST” and “TAILGATE, WITH LIFT ASSIST, POWER LOCK, AND RELEASE”
Thanks!
Thanks!

Tailgate — Power Operated
Operation
The Silverado Work Truck is equipped with a standard tailgate. There are two tailgates featuring torsion bars that damp the lowering and assist lift; one of these features power-down release. The power-up and power-down version replaces the torsion bar with an electric motor and gear reduction in the bottom of the tailgate and a pair of power-assist closure latches like the ones that pull the Corvette doors closed once they are gently latched. The power-up and power-down features can be controlled in various ways such as by double-tapping the button on the key fob, touching the electronic latch on the tailgate and from a toggle switch on the center console in the cabin. The latches then release, and the motor spins to slow the descent of the lightweight aluminum gate. To close it, use the remote, the switch, or just manually lift the tailgate part and the motor brings the gate up until the latches catch and pull the door closed. There are force switches that reverse the motor if any resistance (like from fingers) is felt, and it won't close if something is resting on it. All tailgates are aluminum making them very light. The full power tailgate will be standard on High Country models and optional on LTZ models.
So depending on what the build of your truck is it may have torsion bars to aid in lifting the gate and slow it when opening.

So I have a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT. Should it have power-up tailgate to close the tailgate by using the button on the key fob, touching the electronic latch on the tailgate and from a toggle switch on the center console in the cabin?
